The Office reunites! Cast celebrate ‘Stanley’ and his new career move

The cast of The Office are celebrating a former colleague’s new job.
More than 10 years after going off the air, the cast of the Emmy-winning show reunited to support their co-star Leslie David Baker and the opening of his new store, Honey Baked Ham.
Baker, 68, famously played Stanley Hudson, the grouchy yet beloved salesman who couldn’t resist pretzels, crossword puzzles, and sᴀssy quips.
But nowadays he can be found at the new Honey Baked Ham shop in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Sherman Oaks.
Baker opened the restaurant this past weekend and was joined by former castmates Rainn Wilson, Phyllis Smith, and Craig Robinson in what turned into a mini cast reunion.
‘It was such a joy to be able to share such a delicious moment with my friends, family and cohorts from The Office,’ Baker exclusively told The Daily Mail. ‘Lots of fun, laughter, and good food.’

Baker’s new Honey Baked Ham marks a return of the franchise to the neighborhood following a years-long void, according to the actor.
The shop served the area before closing it’s doors 10 years ago and Baker struggled to find a replacement.
‘I came home one day and was complaining about waiting in the long line at another store,’ he told NBC Los Angeles.

The absence prompted Baker to open his own shop, where hungry customers can get their fill in more than just ham.
‘You don’t have to go get your meats (in) one place, your vegetables somewhere else, your salads another place, your desserts, you can feed your family and make one stop,’ he said.
On Saturday, the new Honey Baked Ham celebrated it’s grand opening with complimentary tasting, a live SJ set, and ribbon cutting.
‘I’m Leslie David Baker, co-owner of The Honey Baked Ham Co., and I couldn’t be prouder to bring this new home to our neighborhood,’ Baker posted to his Instagram. ‘This Saturday, we’re celebrating together — with complimentary tastings, family meals, a live DJ, HoneyBaked Remixed Chef demo, swag, and a little something extra: 20% off all day, on us.’
Baker is no stranger to making major career pivots.

For eight years, Baker played the office curmudgeon Stanley Hudson

At age 40, Baker relocated to Los Angeles to pursue showbiz after working as an administrator at the Chicago health department and acting part-time.
In 2005, The Office premiered – taking his career to a whole new level.
For years, Baker played Stanley, the office curmudgeon who loathed his boss Michael Scott (Steve Carrell) but found joy in crossword puzzles and ‘Pretzel Day.’
It’s a role that Baker is still recognized by: ‘I know you hear some celebrities say, ‘It’s a bother when people call me by my character name. It’s a bother when people are talking about the show I did this many years ago,’ he told The Los Angeles Times.
‘It’s an honor and a privilege to have that type of recognition.’

The grand opening included a ribbon cutting ceremony, a live DJ set, and of course plenty of food

During it’s nine season run, The Office earned five Emmy awards
The Office aired for nine seasons from 2005 to 2013 on NBC and earned five Emmy awards during it’s run.
The American version of The Office was based on the classic UK series of the same name created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant.
Steve Carrell starred as the manager of a paper company branch in Scranton, Pennsylvania, while Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski and Mindy, Jenna, Angela and Ellie were among the branch’s employees.
Last year The Office creator Greg Daniels launched spin off series The Paper, a new mockumentary set in the same universe as the beloved sitcom.
Series two of the spin off, starring Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore and Chelsea Frei has been confirmed.
